Where hotels scent first
Scenting a lobby and stopping there is the most common mistake. Guests read a property as one continuous experience — if the cab smells like the trash chute and the corridor smells like a housekeeping cart, the lobby scent reads as a cover-up. We sequence zones so the story holds.
Lobby & check-in
The five seconds that set guest expectations. Even coverage from the entry doors through the front desk, tuned to door-cycle rate.
Elevator cabs
Compact hidden units with dosing sized for the cab volume, so the ride reinforces the lobby instead of contradicting it.
Guest corridors
Corridor scenting through the floor air handler covers the walk to the room and neutralizes housekeeping and food-tray odors.
Spa & amenity floors
Calmer, lower-intensity profiles for treatment rooms, pool decks, fitness, and club lounges.
How a hotel scent rollout runs

You trial two or three accords on-property before committing. No blind ordering from a catalog.
Install & program
Hidden hardware, intensity and schedule set per zone — stronger at check-in hours, idle overnight.
Monthly service

Hotel scent diffuser questions
What is a hotel scent diffuser?
A hotel scent diffuser is a cold-air atomization unit that disperses fragrance oil as a dry micro-mist into a lobby, corridor, elevator cab, or spa. Luften installs the diffuser either inline with the air handler for whole-property coverage or as a discreet standalone unit for a single zone, then services it monthly so output stays consistent.
How much does hotel lobby scenting cost per month?
Most hotels run it as a managed monthly program that bundles equipment, fragrance, and on-site service. Pricing follows lobby volume, number of zones, and operating hours — a single lobby typically starts in the low hundreds per month, and multi-zone or portfolio rollouts scale from there. Walkthroughs and quotes are free.
Which scents work best in a hotel lobby?
Clean, low-sweetness accords perform best in high-traffic lobbies: white tea and fig, cedar and bergamot, linen and sea salt, or a soft leather-and-amber for a darker, clubbier space. We start from our hospitality library so you can trial fast, then develop a bespoke signature accord if you want something no other property has.
Will the scent bother guests with allergies or sensitivities?
Intensity is programmable per zone and we tune to the lowest level that still registers, which is far below the point most people find intrusive. Our hospitality fragrances are phthalate-free, and we keep guest rooms unscented by default so guests who prefer no fragrance have a neutral space.
Can you scent elevator cabs and corridors, not just the lobby?
Yes. Elevator cabs get a compact hidden unit with dosing tuned to the small enclosed volume, and corridors are typically handled through the floor's air handler or wall units at intervals. Matching the cab and corridor scent to the lobby is what makes a property feel deliberate rather than patchy.
How long does installation take and does the lobby have to close?
No closure. A lobby or elevator install is a few hours, usually scheduled off-peak, with no visible wiring or equipment left in guest sightlines. HVAC-integrated installs are coordinated with your chief engineer around the building's air handler schedule.
Can you roll one signature scent across a whole portfolio?
That is the most common brand request we get. We lock the accord, document intensity settings per property type, and replicate the hardware spec so a guest walking into your Brooklyn property and your Philadelphia property gets the same first impression. Service stays on one monthly schedule.
Do you serve hotels outside New York City?
Yes. Our Brooklyn base at 509 Dahill Rd covers the NYC metro and New Jersey with same-week installs, and we serve Connecticut, Philadelphia, Boston, and Washington DC directly plus nationwide portfolios through shipping and regional service partners.
